"Following the incessant rains, most of the reservoirs including the Siruvani dam has reached it's brim, hence water disbursement timetable for the city has been revised. Those areas which were earlier supplied with Siruvani water every 12-15 days will now get water every five days"said Minister SP Velumani during a review meeting held at the District Collectorate.
The meeting was attended by District Collector, TN Hariharan, TN Assembly Deputy Speaker, Pollachi V Jayaraman, legislators from the all constituencies and other officials from Corporation and PWD departments.
The meeting also discussed about the MGR Centenary Celebrations to be hosted in Coimbatore on 3rd of December, 2017. Speaking to the media, the Minister apprised about the revision in Siruvani water disbursement and also thanked the people of the city for putting up with the untimely supply of water during critical situation that prevailed until a month before. He also advised the people to use water very economically and not to waste water at any cost.
